I mentioned in a blog post a few weeks ago that we finally got around to remodeling the master bedroom in our house. If you’ve been following along for the past 7 months or so since we bought our house, you’ll know we also remodeled the guest room, kitchen, and nursery.
Did I also mention that the entire house was painted peach? Nothing against the color peach. But it’s not what I would’ve chosen for every single room(and ceiling!) in the entire house. When we moved in, we instantly decided that we wanted to paint everything. I was 9 months pregnant when we moved in, though, so most of my ambitions got pushed back.
Before we got around to fixing up the master bedroom, we would avoid letting anyone see that room. We’d give the tour of the house, and we’d kind of just skim past the master. “Aaaaand that’s the master, it’s kinda gross and nothing special”. If you’ve ever been to my house, you know that’s exactly what I’d say. BUT NOW when people come over I’m so excited to show them our room.
I don’t think we’re ever “done” with a room, but I’m pretty happy with where it’s at now. The first thing we did, was update the paint. We picked a really light grey with a purple tint to it that we LOVE. Also, Seth’s idea, we added a color block wall. It’s pretty subtle and I love it.
Our room before was really cramped, so we replaced our old California King mattress with this Queen sized mattress from Agility Bed. Let me tell you guys a few things about how incredible this mattress is. Seth moved it into our room as soon as it got here, and it’s seriously changed how well we sleep. The first night, we slept SO well that it surprised us. I don’t wake up with headaches anymore, and it’s so much harder to get out of bed in the morning(but in the good kind of way). It’s firm but also really plush. So you don’t sink into it but you feel like you’re laying on a cloud. It’s so nice that I’ve honestly told a few people to come lay on it when they come over. You seriously need to experience it.
I posted on my Instagram stories about the adventure we had while making this bedframe…we figured out a solution to our small pallet problem. I’ll be posting a tutorial next week about how we did it!
Since we were finally able to paint, we were able to put up the rest of our decor that had been gathering dust in our closet.
I’ve posted about our new mattress a few times on my Instagram stories, and for everyone that was asking about it, you can get $100 off one of their mattresses with the code AURORA100. We love our mattress and I’m so mad we didn’t make the switch to a more comfortable bed sooner.
