If you’ve been reading here for a while, you’ll know that earlier this year, Seth and I purchased our first home! One of the things we were most excited about doing when we bought our house, was remodeling and redecorating. Our very first project was the nursery(I was 36 weeks pregnant when we moved in!), and after that we fixed up the guest bedroom! The reason we chose the guest bedroom as our second project, is because my little sister was planning to move in with us for the rest of the year. She ended up moving out after a few months though, and the room was no longer under constant use. When we did have people come visit, we only ever had a twin bed for them to sleep on. And that rarely was enough room. So, we knew we needed to update our guest room.
This is where Mattress Firm comes into the picture! We’ve had our fair share of hand-me-down mattresses in our marriage, and honestly, I didn’t want another one. Even though the guest room doesn’t get used on a regular basis doesn’t mean that the bed in that room should be old and uncomfortable.
Mattress Firm just released their new line of Sleepy’s mattresses, and I’m in love. The mattress features memory foam on top of a high density core. It feels firm while still being plush, and therefore is an overall luxurious experience. The woven cover is ventilated, which keeps you cool all night long. I know I’m not the only one who has a hard time feeling too hot while they sleep. So it’s perfect for every couple.
It fits right in in our guest room(which now doubles as an office, so the room gets used more often). We also chose to make another pallet bed frame to go along with this new mattress! I had a lot of requests for a tutorial on how we made the dimensions of the pallets work with the dimensions of a queen sized mattress. So you can expect a tutorial in the next few weeks explaining how we did it!
