I have two disclaimers. One, this post is in no way sponsored! I feel like I have to clarify anytime I recommend a product that isn’t sponsored. Which is unfortunate, and also, most products I recommend really are non sponsored. Second disclaimer, I was blessed with good skin. I’m not trying to humble brag here, but because my skin is relatively clear and problem free, what works for me might not work for you. The only time in my life I struggled with acne or breakouts was while I was pregnant, and even then, it was incredibly mild. My skin issue is dry skin.
When I entered the world of makeup, I had no idea what I was doing. So much so, that the first time I wore makeup, I left the house with bronzer on my entire face, and had used white powder in place of blush. Embarrassing, I know. My makeup knowledge was so limited, I truly had no idea what moisturizer was. I would only wash off my makeup when applying more makeup. When I was in college(much too long to have no idea how to take care of my skin), one of my roommates watched me apply my makeup with horror when she realized that I don’t use moisturizer. And I was also applying my foundation with my fingers. How I got this far in life using my bare hands to apply foundation I will never know.
I’d been wearing makeup long enough that my horrible habits(although, I sort of figured out bronzer at this point hallelujah) were very ingrained. I didn’t start wearing moisturizer until after my wedding. And the only reason I went and bought $6 Neutrogena moisturizer is because my makeup artist(who apologized profusely afterwards and was also my sister so it’s okay that she said this) told me that my skin looked like a lizard.
That was almost three years ago, and yet, that comment still didn’t convince me that I needed to take care of my skin. I slept in my makeup, used mediocre products on my skin, and just in general didn’t care.
Having a baby wreaks havoc on your skin, and 8 months postpartum I finally decided to invest in my skin. I asked my best friend, who takes fabulous care of her skin, for a moisturizer recommendation. And less than an hour later, I’d placed an order for $35 moisturizer and I have not regretted it.
Since using these skincare products, my dry skin is considerably less dry. I am now a strong supporter of both Glossier and The Ordinary. I would die for this moisturizer.

In a matter of just a few weeks, my skin is so much smoother. And applying makeup is a much less stressful ordeal.
