Here’s the thing. I hate it when a blogger shares their “favorites” or “wardrobe staples”, and woohoo it’s under $100! Girl. I don’t have $100 to spend on one pair of jeans. I just don’t. I’ve got diapers to buy. No matter how much I’d love to, you won’t see me shopping at Nordstrom on a regular basis. I love a good deal, and you won’t ever hear me telling you to go shop at high end stores(unless the deal is ridiculously good).
In fact, my favorite place to shop? Uptown Cheapskate. They have a few different locations scattered throughout Utah, and I’ve been shopping there since I moved to Utah four years ago. As soon as September rolled around, I knew it was time to revamp my fall wardrobe. After all, fall fashion is my favorite, and I’m in denial about how hot the weather still is.
The key to building your wardrobe, no matter what season it is, is to start off with the basics. From there, you add more unique pieces that compliment multiple other pieces in your wardrobe. Regarding fall fashion, I like to start with a few dresses, a few versatile pairs of pants, and some cute tops that go with basically anything.
Jackets. One of my favorite parts of fall fashion. They totally change the look of your outfit. And you can’t forget shoes. Have I already proclaimed my love for boots? Because I really do love boots.
If you’re really focused on the name brands that you love, don’t worry. Uptown also has an entire section that’s all of their name brand items at CRAZY low prices. We’re talking Topshop, Anthropologie, LuluLemon, you name it. They have it, but cheaper.
The only downside to shopping deals? Because the majority of their items are sold from other customers, they will only have one. EXCEPT they have an entire section at the front of the store of their New Items, which they buy in bulk, so you can get the same thing but in different sizes and colors. When I was there last week, I shopped that section for an entire hour, I’m not even kidding. There were so many fall fashion staples, I just couldn’t pick. I ended up bringing home waaaayy more clothes than I’d planned. You should’ve seen Seth’s face when I walked in with two huge bags of new clothes. Pretty sure his wallet almost cried.
My point is, don’t break the bank to look cute. You won’t hear me telling you that you HAVE to go spend $100 on the cutest new pair of boots. You WILL hear me say that you have to go spend $10 on one of these suede t shirt dresses that Uptown has in their New Item section.
