When we were in California last week, we stayed in Newport Beach. It was fun, but we didn’t love it. So after a few days, we decided to venture just a tad south, to Laguna Beach. As we drove into the coastal town, we were seriously blown away by how cute and picturesque the whole place was. We spent the day at the beach, walking around, eating the best fish tacos I’ve ever had, and honestly just driving through the town and enjoying it.
To say that we kinda fell in love with Laguna Beach, would be an understatement. Neither of us had ever been, which was fun. I love it when we’re able to experience new places together for the first time. And it’s made even better when we have Bastian with us. Walking around with him on the beach, and trying to get him not to eat handfuls of sand, was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. This was the second trip we’d brought him to with a beach. He liked the water about as much as last time. Which is to say, he didn’t like the water. At all. We had a lot of fun crawling all over that beach searching for the perfect seashell for him to bring home, though. And really, he ate a lot of sand.

We figured, if you’re in a coastal California town, there’s nothing better to eat than Fish Tacos. We searched on Google after we were done on the beach and found a taco place across the street. The tacos were so so good, and Bastian absolutely loved them. And then he promptly fell asleep after eating them. The biggest compliment you can give a good meal, is to fall asleep immediately after eating. That’s how you know it was great.
The best way to get in naps for your baby when you’re on vacation in an unfamiliar town, is to drive around. So after lunch, we drove around the town, blasting the Trolls soundtrack, until Bastian fell asleep and we could head back to our hotel. Last time we came to California, last year, we got a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport to drive around. We really loved it, so we were super excited that we’d get to drive it again! We honestly liked the 2018 a lot better than the 2017, and it was perfect for our trip.
