I’ll be perfectly honest, I’ve always bought my workout outfits from places like Target or Forever 21. That’s not to say that none of the stuff you can find there isn’t cute, but it usually isn’t very durable. The leggings always end up a bit thinner than you’d like(bending over at the gym or in barre class is embaaaaaaarrassing), and the fabric on tops always ends up pilling and making it look like something you bought at a yard sale. You get what you pay for. Obviously, if you’re paying $5.95 for a pair of leggings, they’re not going to last very long and won’t give your bum the coverage you need.
And can we talk about the muffin top almost every pair of leggings gives you? It’s like no matter how fit I’m feeling, I pull on leggings and instantly have a muffin top. And then I’m searching for a loose top to cover that muffin top, but then if I bend over, my muffin top is exposed! It’s a vicious cycle.
I finally decided to bite the bullet and started looking for some higher quality workout clothes, especially because I really want to emphasize on my fitness and health for the rest of this year. Why have I been depriving myself for so long? One of my best friend always buys really amazing fitness gear and I’ll be honest, I’ve never fully understood it until now.
Whenever I’m at Pure Barre, I always find myself staring(with a tinge of jealousy) at the girls who are brave enough to wear something that’s not plain black. Yes, this outfit is still black, haha. But the marble leggings are super cute and it’s cuter than just plain black leggings and a tank top.

This is an outfit that I was SO excited about when it came in the mail. Everything that I got from Noli(this outfit and the marble leggings) is soft, stretchy, and does NOT give me the dreaded muffin top. They also stay in place, which was a phenomenon I was not ready for as I usually wear leggings from Target that slide down and get saggy way too fast.

I discovered Alala because one of my best friends(the same one who inspired me to invest in better workout clothing) posted a photo in this exact outfit and I was floored by how stunning it was. I was scared to order it because she’s significantly more active than I am, and I was afraid I would feel self conscious and compare myself to her. But I put on these leggings and seriously felt so good about myself. They’re high waisted and totally hold in all of my mom pudge, and they make my booty look rockin.

This was another outfit that I got from Alala. These leggings weren’t high waisted, which is something I preferred pre-baby, so I ordered them knowing that I’d especially love the feel once I lost the rest of the baby weight. I love the light pink, and this top is so light-weight that I feel like I could wear it during my sweatiest pure barre workout and not feel sticky afterwards.

I’ll be honest, I used to be afraid of grey leggings. Again, probably because the only grey leggings I knew were the ones that showed sweat in the most embarrassing kind of way. But these stick in place, no muffin top, and no revealing gross sweat.
